Day Services
At GHO, we are helping individuals with developmental disabilities by offering variety of day services that make a real difference:
GHO's Day Habilitation services give people the chance to learn, practice, and strengthen everyday skills that help them live more independently. These skills can include communication, self-care, social interaction, travel, and other areas that support their everyday living. The activities are designed to be engaging and supportive, helping individuals build confidence, make friends, and feel included in their communities.
Site-Based Day Habilitation
Site-Based Day Habilitation services provide individuals with a structured schedule Monday through Friday. A typical day begins at the program site, where staff support individuals in building and strengthening their person-centered goals. This is accomplished through meaningful, engaging activities offered both on-site and within the community.
- Our sites are located in Long Island City, Queens, NY and Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY.
- Agency transportation available
Day Habilitation Without Walls
Unlike traditional day habilitation services, Day Habilitation Without Walls begins in the community, providing a person-centered schedule that integrates recreational activities, ADL (Activities of Daily Living) training, and volunteer opportunities.
- Individuals will be scheduled to meet at various hub sites within the community.
- Encourage individuals to receive travel training by utilizing public transportations.
