Israel Levy is a seasoned leader with over two decades of experience in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) field. His professional journey began at the grassroots level as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), where he developed a deep understanding of the day-to-day challenges and triumphs of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Driven by a passion for service and a commitment to excellence, Israel steadily advanced through the ranks—serving as Supervisor, Manager, Director, and Executive Director.

Israel holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Hofstra University, equipping him with the strategic and operational expertise needed to lead complex organizations in the human services sector. His leadership philosophy is rooted in accountability, collaboration, and mission-driven service. He believes that the key to delivering exceptional care lies in empowering staff, fostering a culture of integrity, and staying relentlessly focused on the needs of the individuals served.

As CEO, Israel is committed to ensuring that GHO’s mission to provide high-quality, person-centered services to individuals with developmental disabilities is not only upheld but continuously strengthened. He is particularly focused on expanding services within underserved communities, including the Asian-American population, and ensuring that every individual supported by GHO has access to opportunities that enhance their quality of life.

He actively engages with staff across all departments and programs, recognizing that their dedication is the foundation of GHO’s success.
